The Creator Stacks

Editorial standards

The Creator Stacks reviews software for independent creators — course platforms, membership tools, newsletters, and community software. This page explains how we decide what to cover, how we test, and how our affiliate relationships affect (or don't affect) what you read.

How we pick products to review

We cover products that a real creator would realistically consider. A product makes our shortlist if it meets at least two of these criteria: active development in the last 12 months, a public pricing page, a creator-focused feature set, and meaningful user adoption (signals include App Store ratings, G2/Capterra review counts, public case studies, and our own traffic data on related queries).

How we test

Every review we publish is informed by at least one of: hands-on use of a free trial or paid plan, structured interviews with current users, aggregated public reviews (G2, Trustpilot, Reddit threads, YouTube reviews) with the sources cited, or published documentation and changelogs. Where we rely on aggregated reviews rather than hands-on use, we say so.

How we write

Our content is produced by a team that includes AI-assisted drafting with human editorial review. We do not publish AI output without a human pass, and we do not publish claims we can't attribute. Every factual claim is either sourced, based on direct testing, or labeled as opinion. We don't use stock phrases like "game-changer," "tapestry of features," or "unleash your potential." If a product is bad for most readers, we say that in plain language.

Affiliate relationships

Many links on this site are affiliate links. When you click one and sign up for a paid plan, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We disclose this on every page containing affiliate links and at the top of every review. Affiliate status does not determine which products we recommend. Multiple products we rank highly are not in our affiliate network, and multiple products we recommend against are. See our affiliate disclosure for the full list.

Corrections

If you spot an error, email editorial@thecreatorstacks.com. We'll investigate within 5 business days and note corrections at the bottom of the affected review with a dated changelog.

Updates

Software changes. Our reviews are dated at the top, and we aim to revisit tier-1 reviews at least every 6 months. If you're reading a review published more than a year ago, check the vendor's current pricing page directly.
